How to integrate your Network of Collaborators

Each fellow will build a network of collaborators from diverse disciplines and sectors whose mentorship, knowledge, and experience will contribute to the success of the project and to the fellow’s professional development. This network should include one or two primary collaborators who will serve as mentors during the program period.

Mentors should be leading professionals in their fields, willing to provide guidance, supervision, advice, and support to the fellow in the design and implementation of the project. During the pre-proposal stage, applicants must identify this network of collaborators, but letters of commitment will only be required if the candidate is invited to submit a full proposal.

It is very important that this network of collaborators includes experts from different disciplines and sectors who can provide diverse perspectives to address the various needs that may arise during the project.

Funds to cover collaborator fees may be included in the budget, provided they are justified based on the time directly dedicated to the project. Some of the benefits for primary collaborators include affiliation and collaboration opportunities with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, participation in the program’s courses and retreats, and participation in the Coastal Solutions Network, with potential opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and fellows across the continent.

Coastal Solutions Fellowship Program

The Coastal Solutions Fellows Program builds and supports an international community to design and implement solutions that address coastal challenges across Latin America. Our main goal is to conserve coastal habitats and shorebird populations by building the knowledge, resources, and skills of Latin American professionals, and by fostering collaborations among multiple disciplines and sectors.
