Application Process for the Coastal Solutions Fellows Program

We are pleased to announce our call for applications for the 2027 cohort. For more details, please click on the link to download our Call For Applications.
Interested candidates should read carefully the Guidelines to Prepare a Pre-Proposal before preparing and sending an application. Pre-proposals must be submitted through the Coastal Solutions platform, where the pre-proposal file can be uploaded in PDF format. The deadline to submit pre-proposals is May 15, 2026.

Application Process & Important Dates

Evaluation Criteria
Pre-proposals will be evaluated and prioritized using the following criteria:
- Leadership abilities of the candidates and their capacity to integrate different sectors and disciplines in their professional development.
- Desired outcomes of the project are feasible and align with the goals of the CSF Program.
- Strong multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaborations.
- Impact on a priority shorebird site in Latin America.

Next steps
The program staff will notify candidates on the status of their pre-proposals by May 29, 2026.
Candidates whose pre-proposals are approved will receive an invitation to submit a full proposal.
The deadline for full proposals is July 17, and the selected fellows will be announced in September 2026.
The new cohort will begin their fellowship on January 11, 2027.

The Coastal Solutions Fellows Program builds and supports an international community to design and implement solutions that address coastal challenges across Latin America. Our main goal is to conserve coastal habitats and shorebird populations by building the knowledge, resources, and skills of Latin American professionals, and by fostering collaborations among multiple disciplines and sectors.
