Map of Priority Sites

Since 1986, the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network (WHSRN) has identified and designated priority sites for shorebird conservation across the Americas. More recently, the WHSRN/Manomet Conservation Sciences team developed this interactive map, where both officially designated network sites and other important sites that have not yet been recognized as WHSRN sites can be explored.

The shorebird data used to create this interactive map come from a variety of sources, including published literature, eBird, monitoring program census data, and Important Bird and Biodiversity Area (IBA) site accounts.

Coastal Solutions Fellowship Program

The Coastal Solutions Fellows Program builds and supports an international community to design and implement solutions that address coastal challenges across Latin America. Our main goal is to conserve coastal habitats and shorebird populations by building the knowledge, resources, and skills of Latin American professionals, and by fostering collaborations among multiple disciplines and sectors.
